the distance / the stretch was released on Sep 27 2024, and it has a run time of 42:40. This album is what I consider to be the spiritual successor to Chairspray. I recorded it very similarly, taking around a month to record all of the songs. This album is kind of a concept album, the first half is "the distance", with it being more energetic and positive than the second half "the stretch". Both sections start with the track "...". I didn't have the vision for this album being a split when I started making it, but it came about because halfway through I started getting very depressed, and started making more lazier and somber sounding tracks. Some of them I'd even consider sinister (track 20 called No Songs is a good example of this).
This album is very important to me, even though it isn't as popular as Chairspray. It is woven deep within my lore, with refrences to multiple thought and feelings I find are a integral part of me (whether I like it or not). To this day I don't think I've made an album that taps so deeply within this specific part of my sub-conscious. This evil, jealous, black-tar-spitting section of my head. Not to mention this album has some of my most favorite songs I've made, This Is The End Of Your Life, G, and Marry Goes Round.
And yes, the name of album was originally a refrence to the song.
